This night time parade wraps up our Mardi Gras season parade participation. Comogo organizers approached us last year and asked for our participation but at that time, we were not able to participate. Early this year, they contacted us again and we accepted the invitation and we were excited to do a night time parade. The Comogo parade is special in the realm of why the Comeauxs promote and participate in this event. It is because of the loss of Brenda Comeaux in 2013 that they do this event.
Comogo rolled right on time despite a date change due to the threat of inclement weather. It was a bit on the chilly side but they tucked us right in behind the Alligator Float which was #8 so we had the honor of watching about a third of the parade from our staging area. We were light on staff and one vehicle short but that didn’t dampen us; we’re the Ghostbusters, right? We were able to roll out and make the whole 2.4 mile route without any problems and had a blast along the way. Special thanks to Darrel and Earl for seeking us out. Hopefully we can do it again next year.
