Okay, I know it has been months since there was a blog post. That’s my fault, well sort of. You see life has a way of keeping you busy and making you prioritize what you need to do. When I took on the task of getting the website in order and keeping it up to date, I fully intended to publish at least one blog story a month. Call it organized chaos if you will, but here are some of the things the group has been up to.

First, a shout out to Ben and the group who have been filming Episode 3 of our Web Series when we could get together for the last several months. From what I hear, some of the filming locations were infested with not only ghosts, but mini vampires of the flying type. Unfortunately the proton packs don’t seem to work on them like they do on entities. Anyway, soon I hope to be able to post the latest video on here and that brings me to another issue. Some of you may have noticed the fan films section here on the site. We are working on redundancy as an alternative to Youtube for those in areas where video content is restricted.  The goal is to have videos here locally, however the first attempt has caused site backup issues and they had to be removed for the time being.

So here is what has happened since September:

Miles Perret Games of Acadiana – Partnered with LHC Group, LAGB and other costumers from Louisiana Giving Back (inaugural event here) were on hand to add unique costume opportunities to attendees at this worthy fund raiser.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer: Alas, the weather rained out our planned participation on this walk to support Breast Cancer warriors and research with American Cancer Society, but that wouldn’t stop us from turning in an earned $1800 in donations including the parade we did later that month’s earning…

Children’s Hospital Halloween Party:  Costumers from LAGB and our mothership organization “Louisiana Giving Back” were on hand to give a great distraction to brave kids at the hospital.  It was an honor working with Children’s and with Spirit Halloween who sponsored this monster event!

Rougarou Fest in Houma – LAGB made its first appearance in this awesome Houma Halloween Parade and earned a nice donation for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer!

Boo at the Zoo, Audubon Zoo, New Orleans – LAGB was on hand to offer kids at the zoo some candy and a great photo op at Halloween!  This was done in partnership with Children’s Hospital of New Orleans and Spirit Halloween.

Lafayette Louisiana Comic Con – Who earned over $1500 in donations to benefit Hurricane victims of Harvey and Irma?  THESE GUYS RIGHT HERE!

Toys for Tots at Siegen Lane, Baton Rouge Toys R Us – LAGB and Louisiana Giving Back costumers were on hand with the US Marine Corps to collect toys for kids at the holidays.  This event was hosted by our local Star Wars fan groups and it was an honor to participate for two weekends.

Krewe of Jingle Parade in New Orleans – In Partnership with Wizardworld New Orleans, LAGB marched in this great, festive parade to usher in the holday season.

There was also a sighting of at least two LAGB members at the Louisiana Ren Fest just after Thanksgiving during time travel weekend.

Now the big event on the horizon is Wizard World’s Comic Con in New Orleans. We will be there doing Buster Shots along side two of our Ectos as incentive for donors to our charity for the next several months:  RELAY FOR LIFE, NATCHITOCHES.   For more info, the link is here: Wizard World
