Louisiana is known for many things, but without a doubt Mardi Gras season is one of the major ones. It’s no wonder when Baton Rouge’s oldest parading Krewe calls that we don’t hesitate to answer the call.
The Krewe de Mystique parade rolled January 30, 2016 at 2pm. Louisiana Ghostbusters pulled out all the stops with Ecto-LA3, Ecto-Nola, and a support vehicle with a trailer full of Beads all rolling to the thrill of the crowd. This would mark the first time in history that we finally got these two Ectos together. With over a dozen dressed out members we marched the entire parade route greeting children and adults alike. Constant stops were required to pose for the obligatory photo ops with the crowds. The route was so successful that the beads were gone long before the parade was over. That didn’t dampen the spirits of anyone.
With appearances in 3 more parades that rolled after Mystique, the Carnival season was a busy one for us. All the proceeds earned from our Carnival appearances went to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, Terrebone Parish.
