Louisiana Ghostbusters took to the streets of Abbeville, LA on October 12, 2013 to attend a time-honored parade all for the benefit of American Cancer Society Making
Strides Against Breast Cancer. The 64th Annual Louisiana Cattle Festival Grand Parade rolled through the streets with Ben Laglinais, James “Deuce” Gaspard, Chris Gardemal, Nicholas Lapeyrouse, & Damon E. Breland all Making Strides. ECTO LA-3 did her part by Rolling for Strides as well.
During the pre-parade festivities people were continually stopping by to check out ECTO LA-3 and talk with us. We were more than happy to tell them more about what we do and the charity work our group is involved with. Our very own Chris Gardemal was the recipient of a challenge coin for his work on ECTO LA-3 over the past year. His dedication has allowed use to generate extra donations for our charity work simply by turning heads with ECTO LA-3. One of our visitors was none other than Parade Grand Marshal Ben Bledsoe. Ben is an up and coming actor having appeared in numerous TV series including: House, CSI, Glee, & Hawaii Five-O just to name a few. He happily posed with us for our Group Buster shot.
- Parade Route Fun
Once the parade was rolling enthusiasm reached a fever pitch. Chants of “WHO YA GONNA CALL” could be heard coming from all over the parade route. Louisiana Ghostbusters were happily stopping for photos with multitudes of parade goers, while ECTO LA-3 with the help of some Junior Busters were showering the parade goers with beads.
Speaking of showers even they could not dampen our strides as the skies began to open and turn us all into some very wet busters. Rain or not we still had to do our very own rendition of the Ghostbusters shuffle as we passed by the grand stand (minus a few proton packs and ghost traps.)
For our participation in the parade festivities Louisiana Ghostbusters were able to trap a $500 donation. This will be added to our total for the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event.
